Sophie 8/2012

Sophie is 4 1/2 years old and has lived her life as a princess and would benefit dearly with a forever home that has french bulldog experience. She knows how to get away with things by using her cuteness to her advantage! Her first owner passed from cancer and was sold to a second owner who only had her 6 months before realizing that as cute as Sophie is - she is a little spitfire and due to not ever being socialized with other dogs- can be a handful on walks when approaching other dogs- especially for an elderly person. When Sophie is with someone that is experienced with frenchies and can be consistent, firm and fair with her- she can be a genius! She knows sit, down, shake, wait, stay and many more tricks- IF you know the tricks to getting a frenchie to listen to you!! As Sophie knows how to work her cuteness to get away with not listening too! Her ideal home would know how important it is to be a fair and consistent leader in her home and continue to work with her- as she really does enjoy working and learning and being challenged to grow with training. Her forever home must NOT have any other animals- this means no birds, cats or other dogs or hamsters and so on. Before coming into rescue- Sophie killed a squirrel, rabbit and a bird in her yard and she has a large prey drive. SO, her forever home cannot have children under 18 either. She is a petite girl with lots of muscles and is learning how to walk nicely on a leash and be a better canine citizen with guidance from her foster mom. She is very loving and playful but if she can get push your buttons to see what she can get away with- she will! If you think you can give Sophie the love and guidance she needs to help her continue to shine- please complete our online application on our drop down menu on our available page of our website: www.frenchieporvous.org

She is up to date on her shots, heartworm and negative tested fecal, current on her heartworm meds and flea meds, microchipped. Her adoption fee of $500 also includes a bed, collar, leash, harness and a few toys and antlers that she enjoys chewing on.

Faith 4/2012

Faith is a 2 year old young spirited frenchie girl who was rescued from  life in a puppy mill, she was born with no knee caps in her rear legs and yet, they had her in a small cage pumping out litters of puppies for them. When she came into our rescue she had sores on her legs from laying in such a small wire cage and no chance to develop muscles. Since she has been in our care- her sores have heeled, she has gotten stronger and learnt how to walk and run without the ability to bend her back legs. This is how life will be for Faith but she does not let that slow her down. Her heart is huge with lots of love and she adores life. Her favorite thing is to run around a yard chasing leafs or running to find sticks to chew on. In the house- she stays in an x pen that will go with her that also has an ortho bed. She also has suspender pants that fits a diaper when she is out and about in the house.

She loves children and people and has lots of love to give and share, but no small children please, as they may fall on her or knock her over when she is unstable on her legs when she gets tired. She will require a home that has a big heart and patience and understanding of her lack of being able to bend her rear legs- she forgets her limitations sometimes and tried to hop off of the deck or down stairs- so you have to be aware of this at all times or she could injure herself.

She would love to live with someone who has a small yard for her to romp in. She does well with some dogs but not all- mellow dogs who will not knock her over and are her size or smaller are best but she would be fine being an only dog too. She loves to be loved on and lay next to you and show her gratitiude for living a life now filled with love and no longer in a small cage in a puppy mill.

Her adoption fee is $250- it includes her being spayed, up to date on her shots, microchipped, x pen with bedding and water proof cover, her suspender outfit, toys, some antlers that she loves to chew, leash and collar.

Hank 9/2011

Hank is one handsome frenchie boy who is looking for a home that will give him lots of love. He is starting to stand a little and using his rear legs from time to time and may walk one day but he loves his wheelchair too. Hank came into rescue because his owner could not afford therapy for him- Hank woke up one day and was unable to walk. He has gone for 4 months of therapy and it is possible that he may be able to walk again one day if his new owner(s) continue to take him to therapy. He has his own custom made wheelchair now and gets around really well in it and likes to go for short walks outside or roam around the yard in his wheelchair. He cannot be in his wheelchair all the time and comes with a large plastic pen that he stays in when he is not in his wheelchair. He is quite the character and is really a handsome boy- he does well with frenchie girls and with laid back frenchie males. Hanks new owners must be patient and have a big heart to adopt and work with Hank if they hope for him to walk one day again. If you think your heart is big enough to adopt a handicapped frenchie- please  complete an application online. His adoption fee is $250 and includes his custom wheelchair, collar and leash, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, negative heartworm and fecal test. bed and special pen area. Really make sure you are up for a handicapped dog before applying for Hank- he has lots of love to give in return. Read More about this Pet
